: The way that artificial intelligence impacts our urban environment

‘AI-Urbanism Audio-Visual’ is an audio-visual performance that talks about a new kind of urban reality affected by the AI system that starts to impact our city's forms, communities, life patterns, and environments. Hiroto Takeuchi, a Tokyo member of IVAAIU City, took charge of audio parts, and Sung-Su Park, a Seoul member of IVAAIU City, took control of live visuals.

AI-Flux Urbanism

Although AI systems are currently in the introduction stage to urban environments, they profoundly intervene in their members' lives. The characteristics of a city with high-density populations live in limited spaces, and AI's aspects of learning vast amounts of data to create alternatives are combined to create possibilities for changes in many layers of the city. Among these critical changes, IVAAIU City is researching and building models of how AI can impact urban life from four perspectives.

1] Form of City
The form of city will be rebuilt through a new decision-making process based on AI systems. Through real-time data, the responses and opinions of the citizens will be collected, and through this, the form of the city will be reconstructed. Using highly accessible AI generative software such as AI text-to-image software, city members will independently propose ideas for the city's structure. Algorithms that collect ideas and make those into a result form will play a significant role during this process.

2] Community in City
Communities in the city will be reorganized into new networking patterns. A person will be connected to the surrounding members based on social data collected by the AI system. This will change the configurations of communities into faster, more diverse, and more flexible forms. Generative AI software will help create seamless communities by assisting communications between members of the groups.

3] Living Pattern in City
Life patterns in the city will be changed dramatically. Due to the influence of AI, there will be a clear separation between work and other parts of life. During work time, high-density tasks will be performed at high speed, and multiple tasks can be performed simultaneously, harnessing the AI robotics system. A high degree of concentration during short working hours will be required. However, more freedom will be given during non-working hours. The urban environment will be diversified and customized to suit members' widened daily lives.

4] Urbanism
Reflecting the city's form, community, and living pattern changes, the urban environment will be redefined as a constantly changing state. With the assistance of AI robotics, city features are constructed as a continuous flux by reflecting the needs of citizens. We name this state 'AI-Flux Urbanism.’
